Queen guitarist Brian May, 77, has spoken out about his doubt to be able to play a guitar again following a minor stoke in August.
In a recent Instagram video uploaded by Mr May, he said: “I’m here to bring you first of all some good news, I think, good news is that I can play guitar after the events of the last few days. And I say this because it was in some doubt because that little health hiccup that I mentioned, happened about a week ago, and what they called it was a minor stroke and all of a sudden, out of the blue, I didn’t have any control over this arm.”
This is not the first time he has been hospitalised for health issues, in May 2020, he suffered heart issues and was fitted with 3 stents in his coronary arteries due to an arterial condition.
He said that he had kept the news quiet as he didn’t want a fuss to be made and didn’t want any sympathy. “I didn’t wanna say anything at the time because I didn’t want anything surrounding it, I really don’t want sympathy. Please don’t do that, because it’ll clutter up my inbox, and I hate that. The good news is I’m OK.”
May praised the “fantastic care” he received from Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey. “It was a little scary, I have to say. I had the most fantastic care and attention from the hospital where I went, blue lights flashing, the lot, it was very exciting,”
