Back with the gear reviews, in this edition I’ve been playing with the Aria Pro II Jet B’tone Guitar!

Something totally different from my usual instruments but I’ve still been giving it the beans and putting it through its paces! The only difference in this review is, again, I’ve not gigged this guitar, purely because I don’t have a use for a baritone out in the wild… Yet! Right, let’s get at it!

As the name suggests, the B’tone is Aria’s answer to extended range within the Jet series of their guitars, tuned BEADF#B as standard, this allows for lower tunings without the heavy gauge strings!

The strings it ships with are 0.62- 0.13 so slightly heavier than most of us would use on a standard guitar but the 762mm scale length makes these feel more like 0.9s which is great for anyone just starting their dive into drop tuned playing!

It comes fitted with a real nice “plunky” single coil at the neck, and a humbucker at the bridge both boasting alnico 5 magnets as standard!

As we’ve previously established I’m not a single coil man however this gives a nice Stratty twang so many people adore. The Humbucker is clean and punchy, with a gnarly grit that handles gain really really well!

I’ve loved cranking it up with this much to the neighbours dismay! This setup allows total tonal versatility to suit whatever you may need and I’m
here for it!
