Doctor and the Medics are delighted, relieved and possibly still slightly astonished to announce the release of their first new album in 30 years. Arriving on Halloween, the album has been a long time coming: it has taken 21 years to reach fruition for reasons so implausible, tangled and frankly impossible to fit into a set of release notes that they are best left to legend.The result is unmistakably Doctor and the Medics: the distinctive sound, character and spirit. Producer Dan Angelow has managed to preserve that essential Medics identity while giving the album a fresh, contemporary energy.If you are intrigued and want a teaser, seek out “Forever and Ever” on YouTube — a taste of what is to come from a record that has taken the scenic route, the long way round and several detours nobody could have predicted.
Availability
The album will only be available as a FREE DOWNLOAD through the band’s official website. To receive it, fans simply need to join the Doctor and the Medics mailing list;

Everyone who signs up before release will be sent a link as soon as the album is available, and anyone joining afterwards will also be able to access the download link.
The release is being kept completely in-house, however, videos for selected tracks will be shared on YouTube, notifications of which, along with news about gigs, updates and other projects will be sent via the mailing list.
Physical Releases
A CD edition will follow later this year and will include a free live CD. A vinyl release is planned for 2027. Featuring fewer songs (That’s Vinyl for you!) than the CD or download editions. The final vinyl track selection will be decided by a fan poll to discover listeners’ favourite tracks.
